'There' is the place that was left behind. 'There' is not so much in opposition to 'here' but is the other half of a place between 'here' and 'there' that is so often sighted as a familiar and present place for those who have come from 'there' and live 'here'. The between as Bhabha describes it, is a sight of potential change and transition. 'There' has a very different meaning for each of the subjects in this project and encompasses past loves, and dreams, as well as future desires. Each of the participants was asked to present the oldest image of value that, in turn, describes a relationship to 'there' and 'here'.
